A Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) is a drawing of the systems in a given section of a plant. It shows all components needed to run, monitor, and control specific processes. Understanding P&IDs is a fundamental skill in a variety of operations, in many industries.

Upon completion of this course participants will be able to:

  • Identify symbols and function labels commonly found on P&IDs;
  • Describe how system components are related; and
  • Trace process stream flow and control loop functions.

CEUs: 0.6 

This course is integral training for: Landfill and Compost Operators; Certified Water, Wastewater, Distribution, and Collection Operators; Engineers; and EITs.

PPE: Please bring steel-toed boots for a treatment plant tour. We will have hard hats, high vis vests, and safety glasses on site.
