Hazardous wastes are defined as those wastes that are flammable, reactive, corrosive, or toxic. These special wastes pose many risks both to the health of people and to the environment. They can cause skin damage on contact, and pollute the ground water, surface water, and ground matter as a result of leaching.
This course will prepare participants to identify, sort and store household hazardous wastes that have been brought to the landfill. It does not cover the transportation of these wastes but will help participants understand the responsibilities of transportation.

He has been a part of Edmonton’s HHW diversion strategy since the beginning, has over 20 years of experience and brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. This will be the eighth time Tim has instructed this course and our past students have been very, very pleased with his instruction.
