This comprehensive course provides Operators with a clear understanding of the BNR process. BNR is a tertiary wastewater treatment process that involves the removal of organic matter, nitrogen (including ammonia, nitrates and nitrites) and phosphorous, as well as the reduction of total suspended solids. 

The focus for instruction is on the configuration and operation of the BNR process from beginning to end.

  • Sampling and Monitoring
  • Troubleshooting

N.B.: This course has been expanded from 2 to 2.5 days to include a highly comprehensive site visit of the BNR system at the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo's wastewater treatment plant.
There will be ample time during this site visit for Q&A with the instructor and course participants about process control and troubleshooting.
